Complete with 145 exercises and nearly 200 illustrations and photos, this comprehensive guide helps readers navigate through the entire process of having one or both knees replaced. It explains what to consider when deciding on knee replacement, details the procedure, and provides extensive suggestions for the crucial postoperative rehabilitation. Patients will learn how to prepare their homes for rehab, and what to do, week-by-week, on the road to recovery.

This book was very informative. It answered many questions that I had about both preparation for and recovery from the surgery. My surgery is one week from today, so I will have to see how accurate it actually was. I'm sure that everyone has a different experience, but I like to know as much as possible ahead of time and this book definitely offered a lot of information and answered many of my questions. I am having both knees done at once and I would have liked a little more information related to that.

My only regret is not having access to this book soon enough. I can certainly see it would also prepare a person for the surgery in many ways. I felt it was presented as clear information. Think it helped that one of the authors had actually had this surgery. I referred to the text whenever I had a question or needed some help in dealing with a certain problem. It was almost like having a doctor or physical therapist at my finger tips.

This book has become my only reference book. I read it before my knee replacement as I contemplated having it done. Now that the surgery is done I use it as a reference book. My therapist was very impressed by it too!! This is a book all patients considering or have had a knee replacement must read.

This book was very helpful in knowing what to expect when having a total knee replacement. So much of the information is not provided by the doctor or physical therapist.

Only book I know in this genre = you want to recover from knee or hip surgery self-sufficiently. Very good job overall. Many exercises to pick from at all phases of regaining mobility from ground zero thru several years after. The Message: begin in earnest the very first day and use a CPM machine. The first 3 weeks done correctly make all the difference later.
