"Life is short; eat dessert first," says Sue Ellen Cooper, Exalted Queen Mother of the Red Hat Society, which is the most fun phenomenon to happen to women over 50 in this century. And so this cookbook has more than 250 desserts at the beginning of a collection of more than 1,000 recipes. Red Hat editors selected the best recipes, stories, and photographs submitted by members from all over the world.
Reviews
I have been in the Red Hat Society for four years now and love it. But I was very disappointed in the cookbook. I enjoyed some of the stories but too many of the recipes were almost the same. I would have thought they could have chosen the best one and not print the other recipes just because one or two ingredients were different. I collect cookbooks, but this one will not be in my collection.

Such a pleasant experience....I read this book through in just a few days, savoring the recipes as well as the clever illustrations and
stories about the Red Hat members. The wide variety of recipes..from
Pink Champagne Cake to the Magnolia Special and on to the Prunacolada towards the end...kept me fascinated.
