A good friend recommended this book to me, and it has REALLY great advice! I was skeptical, because after all who wants advice from lawyers :-) but the lawyers in this book were exceptionally thoughtful and insightful.
The author has interviewed over 100 divorce lawyers with thousands of years of experience and came up with some excellent advice as to how to avoid ending up at their office at the end of the day. I find myself talking about tips from the book all the time to my friends. It is a great reminder that all marriages take work, and that the grass isn't greener ANYWHERE, and that if we want a better marriage that won't lead ultimately to divorce there are simple things that we need to be doing every day to make our marriages more what we want them to be.
This book never pretends like marriage is simple. The advice isn't just that standard, "be good to your husband and suddenly they will remember your anniversary" talk, it is really practical and easy to read.
I am going to an engagement party this weekend for a good friend, and this is what I'm going to bring as my gift! After all, everyone knows that half of all marriages end in divorce and nobody wants to end up there!
Happy reading!
