Taking Care of the Me in Mommy: Becoming a Better Mom - Spirit, Body & Soul this question feed

Moms get so busy with the ?doing? and the ?giving? for their families that they never seem to have enough time to ?rest? and ?receive.? So many moms have bought into the world-view that they can ?have it all? and then believe the self-talk that ?if I don?t do it, it won?t get done!? Isn?t it ironic that so many mothers are running on empty? Lisa Whelchel delivers a book full of practical tips and advice for mothers on how to find lost time in their day to nourish body, soul and spirit.

We just finished this book as a 5-week study. Lisa is very honest and very practical in the book. I truly wish I had this book when my first child was born. This is a great babyshower gift! We easily get caught up in the child and neglect so often the "mommy". You will be blessed by reading this book!

I have always been a fan of Lisa Whelchel's since I grew up watching The Facts of Life. I am a homeschooling mother of seven and looked forward to the release of her latest book.

I think that many of us moms forget that we need to regenerate ourselves so that we can continue to be effective in every aspect of our lives. Lisa's frank honesty of her own life gives the reader the realization that she has struggled in many ways like the rest of us. She gives encouraging chapters on refueling and then concludes each with practical ways to implement the thought into our lives. I feel that as I have added each aspect to my life, I don't "droop" in spirit nearly as often. Thank you Lisa, for a wonderful book!

I am not a mom, but I am an elementary teacher, so this book spoke to me on many levels. Any woman who juggles family and other responsibilities will benefit from this practical book. Lisa's Christian faith only adds to the "advice" she presents her readers. This book made me laugh, tear up, and cross reference with the Bible. Lisa Whelchel has a gift for writing. It is her ministry and she does it beautifully. This book would be a great gift for any Christian mom or woman who takes care of everyone but herself.

I received this book as a Mother's Day gift from my sister-in-law this year. As soon as I opened it, I did not want to put it down! It is exactly what I needed. Great tips on organizing, taking time for yourself, on parenting, and being a Christian woman! This book is continuously helping me be a better mom and christian. I have recommended it to EVERY mom I know! This book has become my all time favorite. I frequently go back to it. I am a regular to Lisa's website now too. And I've got some moms ready and excited for the MOMtime Getaway coming near me in September. I can't wait to hear and see her in person! You will not be disappointed with this book!!
