Showing definitions of every single word used in the works fo Shakespeare, it also shows where they are used throughout the works. A glossary and concordance in one! A must-have for any student, actor, director, or anyone else needing guidance.

This two-volume compendium of Shakespeare's vocabulary is a great addition to my shelf of works by and about him. When in need of an explanation of why he used a certain word, this dictionary not only gives the definition as Shakespeare understood it but also gives all the plays in which that word appears. A very useful excursion into the Elizabethan language. My only complaint is that one needs a magnifying glass to read it.

We all know that Shakespeare is another language :).... this incredible dictionary explains every word and gives you other contents in which it was used in different Shakespeare plays...
I think it is very useful to have at least one Shakespeare dictionary in the house and this book is excellent!

If you are in any way associated with the works of Shakespeare - on stage, in the classroom, for fun, whatever - you have to have these two books. Let's face it, there are just some terms that defy all logic and explanation. The lexicons will solve it.

The layout is a bit grueling, but worth the payoff, especially for those in theatre without the benefit of extensive Shakespeare training.
