I bought this book and don't regret it. The paper is high quality and the photos are beautiful. I have tried some of the recipes and all have been a hit every time. Sure the list of ingredients for each recipe includes some brand name item(s) or pre-prepared food. But that is what "semi" homemade is all about. Part pre-packaged/store bought and part made from scratch. A great combination if you will try the recipes. I don't save scads of time by using these recipes but they do make delicious dishes which are different from most other dishes you will see and have all been a hit at any party I have taken them and with my family at home.

Remember, this is Sandra Lee. Good grief! Has anyone who's given this book a favorable rating seen her TV show where a lot of these "masterpieces" have been showcased?

If your idea of cooking is pouring microwaved Velveeta onto frozen rolls-in-a-can and baking to you is smearing frosting-in-a-can all over prefab cookie dough then, YES, you'll love this book.

Oh, and don't forget that tablescape now. Spend 15 minutes on the "baking" and hours on the crafting and tablescaping. Who knows? You might end up with your own show.
