All the Enchanted Forest Chronicles are so much fun! Definitely at my top of Harry Potter fan recommendations. They're just such an amusing read; I even teach with them. Don't forget to read "The Frying Pan of Doom."

In the second installment of Cimorene's tale, we find Cimorene still housekeeping for Kazul and dissuading errant princes of their determination to `rescue' her. But when the King of the Enchanted Forest, Mendanbar, knocks on her door, he catches her as she is leaving to find Kazul, who has gone missing. As Kazul is now the King of the Dragons, Cimorene must not let this news leak as panic might ensue. Mendanbar decides that he too must find Kazul to stave off war with the wizards, so they join forces and set off on a journey through the land to rescue Kazul and thwart the wizards once again.

Searching For Dragons was okay, and it is the sequel to Dealing With Dragons.

Mendanbar is the King of the Enchanted Forest. He sees that part of the forest is burned, and totally zapped of any magic. Mendanbar sees dragon scales, leading him to believe that it was the dragons that caused the destruction. Taking advice from some magical creatures, he seeks the witch named Morwen for advice, and any answers. It turns out the scales belonged to a dragon who had been gone long ago, and the scales had been enchanted to appear as if it belonged to several dragons, in fact. Mendanbar goes to see the King of Dragons, Kazul, to see if she (That's right. She.) can help. He meets Cimorene, and she tells him that Kazul is missing. The two go on quest, with each their own reason, to seek Kazul's location, and bring her back where she belongs. Mendanbar, and Cimorene meet a variety characters, creatures, magical objects, and they encounter new places, too. But worst of all, wizards. The King of the Enchanted Forest, and The King of Dragon's Chief Cook and Librarian are sure the wizards are up to something. But what? And why?
