Scandal in Spring wraps up Lisa Kleypas' Wallflower series with the story of Daisy Bowman. After three seasons in London, Daisy's father has decided that since she has yet to bring a suitor up to scratch that he will choose one for her. His choice is his business partner and protege Matthew Swift, an American who will be arriving soon from New York.

Though she hasn't seen Swift in several years, Daisy's recollections of him are that he is an overgrown bag of bones whose singular focus is on succeeding in business. She wants to marry anyone but him and she and the other Wallflowers hatch a plan to get her engaged before she can be forced to carry out her father's wishes. However, all of this is before she sees Swift again and realizes that he has changed in the years since she's seen him. He's grown into his lanky frame, his looks have matured, and now his singular focus is in winning the affection of one Miss Bowman.

This was story was a wonderful end to one of my favorite romantic series. I love the fact that Kleypas gave each of these spectacular women a man who might not seem like the right one, but who was bound and determined to show these ladies that they were more than just the wallflowers on the edge of the ballroom. Daisy was one of my favorites with her bookworm exterior and dreamer's nature and I was sure that somehow Mr. Rohan from Evie's story (Devil In Winter) would somehow make an appearance in this book and sweep her off her feet. Even though that wasn't the case, I loved Matthew Swift and I loved how in love he was with Daisy. The two had a chemistry from the moment they saw each other again and I couldn't wait for them to get together.

This was a fitting end to an excellent series that displays that true love is possible for everyone, even the Wallflowers. I'd highly recommend the other books in the series which are (in order): Secrets of a Summer Night, It Happened One Autumn, and Devil in Winter. If you like Kleypas' Wallflower series I can also recommend the Julia Quinn Bridgerton series beginning with the Duke and I.

Kleypas brilliantly wrote her Wallflower Series. Each character has a different personality, and different challenges to overcome. The faboulous part is how she picks up at the very next page with the books. For example, Devil in Winter starts at the EXACT page Autumn ended at.

Wonderful. I recommend this to anyone looking to curl up with a good book.

It was sad to see the end of this Quartet. Loved all of them. However, this was my least favorate. Daisy's personality seem very different in this than the other three books in that she appeared. She was too "unreal". It would have been interesting if she had had some interaction with that "gypsy" young man (Cant recall his name) from book number 3.

I just finished reading this book. Although I love Daisy & Matthew with their sweet story, it's not as great as Devil in Winter in which St. Vincent & Evie were total opposites with their intense passion that I didn't feel with Daisy & Matthew. Yes, Daisy & Matthew had sex (several times in fact) before getting married but somehow, something was lacking. I just can't put my finger into it. I probably will know after I finished writing this review. Anyway, not to put the entire story down, I feel that Scandal in Spring is a better book when compared to the first 2 novels. I have to say that in this story, so much emphasis was on Daisy's sister Lillian. I just couldn't stand Lillian. Granted that she's pregnant and she wasn't feeling well, but she was just down right loud-mouth bossy! It makes one wonder what the hell did Marcus ever saw in her! Completely an annoying character. I wanted to throw the book across the room everytime I'm reading something that Lillian is on. I didn't like Lillian from the beginning but I never thought to hate a character in a story so much. I wanted to hear more from Evie and St. Vincent & how they were together. Further, I just wish Ms. Kleypas made Matthew a little bit more intense. His secret was such a downer & it will make you say, "that's it."

I can't believe I read this book through in one sitting! Of course I stayed up all night but it was so worth it! This one of the best love stories I have read in along time. Daisy and Matthew will remain with me always. Their love story was so sweet and romantic. What I loved most about this book is that she stood by him and had absolute faith in him when he needed it the most! Alot of romance novels like to have one or the other lose faith in the hero, but this was wonderful how Daisy believed in him no matter what! My first Lisa Kleypas book but definately not my last. A wonderful storyteller!
