Providing activities for "Birdie Buzzsaws" and "Avian Einsteins" is a challenging and ongoing task for companion parrot owners. Parrot-Toys and Play Areas covers all aspects of play and encourages owners to "put some fun" into their parrot's life. Whether they choose to purchase or make their own parrot toys or play areas, bird owners will find this book loaded with practical advice, safety tips, and loads of ideas for both toys and play areas. By identifying their parrot's Play Style, an owner can find out what kinds of toys their parrot really likes. The Eleven Parrot Toy Categories then make toy selection fun and easy. In Part 2, play areas become exciting Parrot Adventure Stations with buying guides and building instructions.

This book will show you how to make those cool toys in the pet store for a fraction of the price. I never imagined there were so many things Gracie and I could play with that are already in our home! She shows me new things we can get into every day!

I was looking for a book that had bird toys ideas and play-gyms in it. This book had great toy ideas. It tells you the different kinds of toys and what to get to use as toys. The best part was the play-gym. If you like to build things, this book is great. The play gym was fun and easy to build to build and my Orange-winged Amazon loves it.

This book was just super; easy to read, and you really feel like making a bunch of stuff for your bird(s)...we kept looking, and finally started to make a good sized playstand from PVC for our Blue & Gold Macaw Lucky. We started out making it exactly like the plans, then we adjusted here and there to come up with a totally unique playstand; but this book gave us the base in the planning, and the gumption to get going, and we have a VERY happy Macaw; We didn't use any of the PVC Glue, we found that most pieces fit pretty tightly togther, and that some of the key pieces we just just scewed together to make double sure that they were sturdy; so far this playgymn has held up very nicely and it has been several months! We make lot of holes with eye hooks stuck in so we could put toys we made on the playgymn, he (Lucky) keeps very busy and entertained on this! I would advise that you buy this book, it was the most informative one that we found for sure! Pat & James in Michigan!
