One Last Time: A Psychic Medium Speaks to Those We Have Loved and Lost

Looking back, John Edward now sees the early signs that he was destined to become an acclaimed psychic and medium. "There were times when I knew things I shouldn't have known," he writes. "Simple things like who was coming over, or who was on the phone." He knew events in family history that no one had told him about. He was inexplicably fascinated with television characters that possessed supernatural powers. He'd see auras around schoolteachers and hear voices that whispered true information in his mind. Eventually his gifts expanded into hearing the names of spirits "who'd gone to the other side." Finally, as a teenager Edward began to claim rather than question his psychic abilities and committed his life work to pursuing and learning about his gifts. Now that he has become a renowned medium (appearing on numerous talk shows, including Larry King Live), Edwards has written an entertaining "my life as a psychic" type of autobiography, packed with fascinating true stories. At the same time, Edward offers an engaging self-help book, teaching readers how to visit a medium and even showing seekers how they can recognize and develop their own psychic abilities. --Gail Hudson

Since most people cannot hear the conversations he has with the dead... it would be in his head (little joke). I like this guy, Mr. Edward has created other learning materials that I have used and learned from. He knows what he is talking about and demystifies the spiritual realm quite a bit. It is not over the top and easy to understand.
Books from other authors on spiritual matters (maybe 20 years ago) were quite vague and had a feeling of "You know what I mean" and then they would move on. No, I don't know what this stuff is about, that is why I am reading this stinking book!
Clear, simple understanding is invaluable. John Edward gives reading after reading in this book and you get to explore what is going on in the lives of the readers and the read as information is passed from the Other Side to the living. He also offers tips and understanding on how the process works as well as instructions in the back of the book. It is possible to do this for yourself, you have a new beginning in this book.

Really good book. There is no doubt John Edward has physic abilities and it was touching to hear of the experiences of some of his clients.

A perusal of this book reminds me of a UK television show on which James "The Amazing" Randi, pretending to be a "medium," brilliantly and devastingly showed just how easy it is to be fooled by those who claim to talk to our dead relatives for us. It seems that the need to believe, the craving to hang on and not let go, is powerful enough to bypass logic and rational thinking in our poor benighted species. I would urge anyone considering laying out their hard-earned money to this or other "mediums" to do a little research into the "cold reading" trick and how it works. There are many ways to deal with grief and loss that do not involve superstition, credulity or hefty amounts of cash.

I recently had the pleasure of not only being in a gallery session with John in November of 2005 but I was also read. It was an incredible experience that I wish everyone could have.
I have been reading John's books and following his television show (which was cancelled) vowing that one day I would meet him.
His book is thought provoking and sincere. He is a "regular guy" who makes fun of himself. He isn't trying to change people's belief systems. To the contrary, he openly encourages his readers to be skeptical. His simple request in return is for those lucky enough to receive messages from the other side is to APPRECIATE THEM. That's all he asks. He asks that you be open-minded. He unselfishly shares his experiences (and those who were unselfish enough to allow their stories to be told) with others. He has put himself in the line of fire and has to "prove" himself time and again each time he does a reading. He is amazing and inspiring. He is genuine and that comes across in his books.
Anyone who is looking for answers will be inspired and comforted by John's explanations to how he does what he does.
He is truly incredible and has changed my life in such a positive way.
