So, you've bought the crib, you're taking your vitamins, and you've got names all picked out…Now, where's that instruction manual? Oh, Baby! won't teach you how to change a diaper, but it will give you the "real story" about the many ways a new baby will turn your life upside-down. You may be surprised by the changes, joys, and challenges that a new baby brings to your marriage and sense of self, your career, friendships, spiritual life, extended family, and to the opening of your heart like no other love can, but you need not be overwhelmed. Oh, Baby! offers experienced advice and know-how for expectant and new parents, action steps for developing new coping skills, stories of how other new parents overcame the challenges, and discussion questions and communication strategies to head off conflicts between you and your partner so you not only survive, but even thrive during your baby's first year! Bettie B. Youngs, Ph.D., Ed.D., is a Pulitzer prize-nominated author of thirty-two books translated into twenty-four languages, a former Teacher-of-the-Year and university professor, and a new grandmother. A mother of four boys including toddler twins, Susan M. Heim is a former Senior Editor at Health Communications where she edited the bestselling Chicken Soup for the Soul series. New mother Jennifer Leigh Youngs is the co-author of Amacom's fall release Moments and Milestones: A Pregnancy Journal and the popular Taste Berries for Teens series.
