This book really helped me. Not being an Electrician but a tradeworker in the midst of a carreer change. It was difficult for me to read and comprehend the 2005 National Electrical Code book without the help of this handbook. The pictures are helpful, and the examples for the calculations really worked for me. This book is quite large and full of great information. I would recomend it for anyone.

The National Electrical Code is an internationally accepted safety code for electrical and power wiring. It specifies the minimum provisions necessary for protecting people and property from hazards arising from the use of electricity and electrical equipment. Anyone involved in any phase of the electrical industry must be aware of how to use and apply the Code on the job.

This authoritative handbook is based on the last revision of the NEC, which was released in 2005. It undergoes a rigorous review and revision process every 3 years by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA

The NEC is a Mandatory reference for anyone who is engaged in electrical work of any kind, and this book is without any doubt a trusted resource for understanding and applying the Code. The book will be helpful for both professional and students.

I bought this book because I am studying to be an electrician. I like it considerably more than the paperback version it is far easier to find section headings and sub-headings when you are looking for something. The paper is strong and glossy-white (as opposed to gray and flimsy in the paperback) and headings are in bold type and indented.

That may not sound like much, but it is many times easier to read this version than the paperback version I was supplied to by my school.

The book also features notes about many revisions to the Code from the 2002 edition as well as numerous examples, illustrations, and diagrams of different regulations.

The book is very well constructed, albeit, rather large at 1300+ pages. If you need to buy a code book, this one will last a lot longer than the paperback one!

What a waste of time, money and energy!!
This cd allows you to review the NEC 2005 handbook but you can't print the whole thing to use as a paper hardcover reference, only sections can be printed.
Why pay twice as much for a product that only has half as much value. The paper book version costs half of what this costs and you can photocopy it for reference if you want.
Also included on this disc are "read only" versions of the last three versions of the NEC (again somewhat limited if not altogether useless. Imagine dragging your computer or laptop around with you on a major construction job, ready to pull it out whenever you had a question.. consider that laptop disposable). To top it all off the program only allows two activations, so you can only install it on two computers or activate it twice online ( laptop, work or home totals three... good luck).
This product is definately the result of corporate, copyright infringement paranoia!!
