It takes a minx to tempt a rogue...Beautiful and feisty Henrietta Barrett has never followed the dictates of society. She manages her elderly guardian's estate, prefers to wear breeches rather than dresses, and answers to the unlikely name of Henry. But when her guardian passes away, her beloved home falls into the hands of a distant cousin.

And it takes a rogue to tame her...William Dunford, London's most elusive bachelor, is stunned to learn that he's inherited property, a title...and a ward bent on making his first visit his last. Henry is determined to continue running the Cornwall estate without help from the handsome new lord, but Dunford is just as sure he can change things...starting with his wild young ward. But turning Henry into a lady makes her not only the darling of the town, but an irresistible attraction to the man who thought he could never be tempted.

I bought this book with the new cover -- it's the blue one. The cover is so beautiful. However, the book itself is way more beautiful! I'm really glad that Quinn changed the cover of Minx because I probably wouldn't have bought this book in it's original cover. (I stay away from historical romances with half naked people on the cover. I commute every day to my college and read in the bus or I'll get bored staring out the window for 40 minutes. I just wouldn't want to read a book in the bus with a half naked people on its cover.) Anyway, if you don't see this book with its new cover, you still have got to buy this book with the original cover. It is FABULOUS! I think that all romances should have good covers because covers with half naked people make some romance readers not read the book -- then they miss out on such a beautiful book like this!!! Sorry, if this part of my review is unhelpful, but I've really got to say this because so many romances out there have "bad" covers and I stay away from them. People should definitely not stay away from this book just because of its original cover.

This book made me laugh, cry, and smile. The characters were so descriptively written and well developed. It was like you really knew these people in real life. I read the reviews here and a lot of people said that the last 50 pages weren't neccessary. I totally disagree -- if not for the last pages, the book would not have included an obstacle for the couple. EVERY romance has to have a struggle between the hero and heroine or else the romance novel would be either: 1)boring, 2) cheesy and unrealistic, or 3) filled with nothing but sex. This book is the book that has now made me a huge fan of Julia Quinn!

This is not one of my favorite Julia Quinn books. I enjoyed it though. I thought Henry was a bit harsh and William a bit too fussy.

I liked this book because the heroine is a bit different than the norm for this genre. Henrietta (Henry) refers to herself as a freak, but she has simply not been gently reared and has had to adopt some masculine qualities to survive and run the farm for many years. Our hero,
Dunford made her realize that she hadn't completely lost her femininity. Like most of Quinn's female characters, Henry is hoydenish, witty and bold.

I liked Dunford because of his wittiness. I often had to laugh aloud at some of the dialog from him.

What I felt the book lacked was a mysterious or dangerous plot. For me romance is good, but just not enough to carry a book to 5 stars.

While the secondary plot about Dunford's x-mistress was good, it was too predictable. I just knew Henry would have to check out the midnight meeting and draw the wrong conclusions.

It was nice revisiting Belle and John, as well as Alex and Emma.
I could endure a mediocre book if only to revisit old favorite characters. Keep up the series books, Julia!

From page one the characters in this charming book reached out and grabbed me. Page after page I just got sucked in deeper until I closed the book with a happy sigh. The reader will feel the despair, the heartbreak, passion and the joy of Henry and Dunford in this very excellent character driven romance. I fell in love with Henry along with Dunford. Dunford is a wonderful hero and Henry is an engaging and spunky heroine. Honestly I really donb't see how someone could hate Henry. I found her delightful. I found the characters to be multi-dimensional. The plot and characters seemed fresh, the pace was quick, and it was a totally engrossing read. Full of enjoyable supporting characters and stories. This book is sharp and fast-moving. Lots of laugh out-loud, I-can't-believe-she-did-that scenes and oh so plenty of heart warming moments. If you long to be swept into the lives of two enchanting people, I highly recommend this one. This book had everything you need to create a good romance: a dashing hero, a beautiful heroine, a person who always seems to interfere with the hero and heroine, and, most of all...PASSION! I love seeing the hero change his ways and attitudes the more he gets to know heroine and falls in love with her and visa versa. I love this book. I had tears at the end when they had their baby. Julia Quinn once again prove herself as one of a best story teller among all.
