As a huge fan of the MGS series. I will buy w/e product they through at me. Whether just a picture, or a comic book. I loved the story line to the MGS Series and now I can enjoy them without playing the games. I can get the laughs, the thrill, the adrenaline rush (More Like "WHAT'S ON THE NEXT PAGE!!!" adrenaline*). I even have to wake myself up to believe that I just didn't feel the grenade explode. The art pulls you into the story as you remember and relive the thrill. Any true MGS Fan will love this. And maybe buy another just to frame on your wall.

Dont get my wrong I'm the biggest MGS freak alive, but this book isnt all that special. Its the exact same story as the first Metal Gear Solid game. The whole Shadow Moses incident. I bought this book intending on it to be a whole new story. A new experiance! However, I cracked back the first page and saw a familiar scene. I skimmed through it real quick. I was dissappointed. What I found was the same story, the same dialog, the same exact thing I lived through 7 years ago when I got the game. There is a tiny amout of dialog added to the story. NOT MUCH THOUGH! Thats about it for differences. Btw Dont think your getting the book in the picture. My cover is blue for some reason. Dont get be wrong. Its not ALL bad. I did give the an "ok" after all. The art is really really pretty. Not the best ever but definately pretty. It does have this crazy Physco Mantis interrigation of Grey Fox. I guess the real reason you should buy this book is to admire the art. If thats not what your after, then its a pass. I did enjoy looking at it. Finished it in about an hour. I just wish it had been less money. Now that you have been warned, the choice is yours.

This hardcover edition came with a card of a painting of Solid Snake that was signed and numbered by the artist Ashley Wood. The comic itself is excellent. Ashley Wood's art style is very unique and the writing by Kris Oprisko is done very well also. This hardcover features the first six issues of the comic. The comic is based on the original Metal Gear Solid game that was released by Konami in 1998. Several parts of the comic cover stuff only referred to in the game. This is a great buy for Metal Gear and comic book fans alike.
