This was a fun book to read. I am a big fan of Katie MacAlister and I think this was one of my favorites.

I read this book last year & I DO recall getting a bit "irritated" at the character of Kathie now & then. She seemed to really "run off at the mouth", in my opinion. That being said, I AM a sucker for humorous romances with Scottish men as the lead characters and I truly did enjoy Kathie & Iain's story. No book is perfect & this one does have it's flaws but, all in all, I do recommend it. I gave it 5 stars because I enjoyed reading it so much that I was sorry when it ended. In fact, I would love to read a sequel to it.

I have read almost every book that she's written - and I loved them all. The humor was witty, the romance charming and the writing flowed easily. This so-called book was nothing like anything she's written so far. To begin with, the writing is stilted, as if it took her years to write in bits and pieces and she couldn't remember where she was. The humor is, quite frankly, not funny.

The male lead supposedly sweeps the female lead off of her feet instantly - and he manages to do this without a personality of any sort! MacAlister gives him nothing to say, and when he does speak it's a droll sort of nonsense.

The female lead is completely and totally unbelievable. She is 37 and is still shy as a virgin on her wedding night when anyone even mentions kissing around her - yet she sleeps with a man on the first date and promptly expects him to marry her. Her desperate attempts at getting him to day I-Do had me throwing the book across the room in disgust!

I had an easier time believing in Beloveds and Wyrvens than I did a mystery novelist and a sheep farmer! Bottom line - don't waste your money!!

This book starts out funny ... loved how the main character is human like we all are and prone to doing silly things. The Dishy Scot proves for some nice steaming reading .. thoroughly enjoyable!! But the last 1/3 of the book just fizzles out ... I hated the ending. It really left me wanting more ... I wish the author had written more and tied up the story better. Overall though I enjoyed it and would recommend it for some light reading.
