Moving to sunny Southern Cal feels like punishment to 17-year-old Anne. the hippie-ish school is different from her old one on the East Coast, and the social scene is all about hanging out at the beach and surfing. And then there's Ellie: beautiful, competitive queen of the social scene who takes an instant disliking to Anne. So when Chris--one of Ellie's oldest friends and, oh yeah, the most gorgeous guy in school--reaches out to Anne and offers to teach her how to surf, sparks fly...in more ways than one.

Anne's new life in Laguna Beach, California is anything but appealing to her: the area's quite different from her former Connecticut prep school and teens in California are concerned about beaches and surfing: two things she knows little about. Newfound friends help her adjust, but she still faces a lovely competitive girl who seems determined not to let her fit in. A compelling story of a new girl's adjustments emerges against a vivid, realistic California beach backdrop.

I luv this book. Once again Alyson Noel wrote an fantastic book. If you are looking for books about, high school drama you should read this book. Also if you love the shows Laguna Beach & the OC you MUST read this book trust me it is worth the money to buy it.
This book is about: A girl name Anne who is new at a public school which is the opposite of her last school which is a prep school. She is trying to fit in. Anne was having a hard time making friends with Ellie. Ellie is beautiful, popular, competitive & practially the queen bee of the school. The more Ellie see Anne with Chris {the most gorgeous guy in school} the more Anne hates her. If you want to find out what happens next go and buy the book.
