Whether it's used in conjunction with Kaplan and Sadock's Synopsis of Psychiatry, Ninth Edition or as a stand-alone review book, this study guide is an excellent aid in preparing for boards and other psychiatry exams and in reinforcing the reader's knowledge. It offers chapter overviews of Synopsis, Ninth Edition, and over 1,600 multiple-choice questions on material in Synopsis, Ninth Edition and Kaplan and Sadock's Comprehensive Textbook of Psychiatry, Seventh Edition. The study guide includes terms and definitions consistent with DSM-IV and ICD-10, as well as case studies, tables, figures, and test-taking hints.

Together with the sinopsis of psychiatry this book is an ideal tool to acquire a good deal of knowledge and preparation for the exams (in my case the MRCPsych part 1 in UK). This will really boost your possibilities!. Good luck!

The COMPREHENSIVE TEXTBOOK OF PSYCHIATRY, 8th Edition, has a new and very useful Chapter on Borderline Intelligence by the Yale University School of Medicine psychiatrist, Frank John Ninivaggi, MD.
It helps in differentiating ADHD from fundamental cognitive limitations, and, therefore, urges more academic and school- based interventions. Fewer medication side effects to worry about.
