Very informative. This was the book I needed to give me the confidence to begin. I was curious about the subject and wanted to begin a program of diet and detoxicfication; however, I questioned the sanity of the venture. Steve Meyerowitz does a terrific job of dispelling any fears and he makes sense of the practice of fasting safely. A very complete study on the subject including a nice aray of receipes.

I found this book to be a great tool for all methods of detoxing concerning liquids. The author explains the nutrition and healing methods of different juices concisely and without the "bull" in most books. I read through this book in an afternoon - I literally could not put it down. The author covers water, fruit juice, vegetable juice, and liquid detoxing.

He also goes into detail about the other things that go along with detoxing, such as skin brushing and getting outdoors to let the skin breathe. I also love how Meyerowitz describes different juicers and educates the reader on how they work and which brands to buy. I have yet to find a Detox book that details that much.

I would highly recommend this book for anyone that wants to get healthy today. I have been using Meyerowitz's methods since I read this about one month ago and I have never felt better.

Don't listen to the reviewers who gave this book low stars and complained that it was "too simple" or "cultish" or "anti-religious" or "too religious". They obviously didn't understand, apply, or perhaps even read through the information.

The author presents the facts on a controversial subject in a very easy to read and understand format. Those who bash juice fasting or this book are resisting something that could help them greatly.

Juice fasting does FAR more than just "eating less and exercising." The point of juice fasting, as the author explains, is to give the body a break from solid foods. This will allow the body to rejuvinate itself. No medication can do this.

I'm not religious, but I've fasted many times and the experience really does make you feel more spiritual, grounded, and in touch with your inner guidance. This is what the author was trying to convey with some of the drawings.

Bought this book with a Breville Juice extractor about a month ago and haven't looked back since. Very creative yet informative writing with great tips, advice and excellent recipes. If you want to get into a healthier way of life or start juicing or juice fasting to lose weight, this is an excellent choice.

This book does contain some very useful nutrition based information and recipes. However, it leans predominantly in some sort of spiritual direction. The illustrations are somewhat bizaar to me, to include a figure sitting indian style surrounded by fourteen angels holding scripts with phrases on them, such as "Eternal Life" and "The Earthly Mother". Also some of the advice just didn't seem right to me, such as the recommendation on pg.85 to self induce vomitting if you have a persistent headache from fasting.

Again, this book does contain very informitive nutritional advice, if you don't mind the bizaar drawings and highly spiritual base of this book.
