In the Company of Horses: A Year on the Road With Horseman Mark Rashid this question feed

When Kathleen Lindley showed up at one of Mark RashidÂ's horsemanship clinics, she told him that she didnÂ't know who he was and didnÂ't really care, as long as he could fix her horse. In the course of working with him and learning about his way of training horses, not only was KathleenÂ's horse Â"fixed,Â" her life was changed. This book documents her time spent with Mark Rashid and the deeper appreciation and knowledge she gained for horses and life while there.

Ms Lindley's book was entertaining and an easy read, but, more importantly, it was concrete and useful. I finished it this morning and went out this afternoon and practiced some the concepts she describes: focus, breathing, and confidence. I saw the effect on my riding and my horse's movement. Most exciting was going to the pasture, visualizing my horse coming to me to be haltered; and she did! I worked on my breathing and visualizing easy transitions and my mare was soft and collected. My trainer said I looked the most relaxed and balanced she's ever seen me. She tells a good story in the same tradition of Mark Rashid and also connected some of the dots for me from what he writes about. I'm looking forward to her next book! She and Mark can't write them fast enough for me!
