My adult children have encouraged me to have a place where all important papers and facts can be at hand if I become incapacitated. This book does just that, and more.

I found great relief when we heard about this book. It was so needed in my home. This is a super workbook for everyone who loves someone and wants to makes their grief process easier! It is designed to give your loved ones a clear idea of your wishes and how your affairs should be handled. The authors handle this process in a clear and precise manner. As Dr. Laura said when recommending this workbook, 'it doesn't mean you'll die sooner' Give yourself and your loved ones peace of mind! I have been through a messy estate and that is no fun. Highly recommend.

Recently I bought this book for my mother as a gift thinking she could use it to get her papers and financial information under control before "something happens to (her)". I didnt know if she needed it, or would even want it, but got it anyway. I mailed it to her in Florida (which was hit by hurricanes last year) and she just received it. Her email to me said, "I had an appt with my financial advisor to go over something like this, but now I am going to cancel the appt. This book is EXACTLY what I am looking for." She even said that she was going to show it to her friends as they might be interested in the book as well!

I live in Florida, and last year's hurricane season was unbelievably stressful. While I was fortunately OK, some of my fellow Floridians saw their lives turned upside down overnight. This has made me much more aware of the need to be prepared if something happens.
I interviewed Joe on my radio show EverydayWealth Radio, and had the opportunity to review his book as well. In summary, it's an excellent guide for all of us -- single, married, kids or without -- to get our financial matters in order just in case. Something like a major storm, fire etc. could make this book invaluable for finding all your information quickly.
The next hurricane season is upon us, and I am using If Something Happens to Me as part of my preparations. Just in case!

I handle my family's finances. After being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, this book helped settle my nerves. I CAN leave behind an organized, detailed and easy-to-navigate financial roadmap for my wife -- if something happens to me...
This detailed workbook allows you to not only organize your financial, legal and insurance information, but also gives step-by-step guidance as to what families need to do after losing a loved one.
Financial planner and co-author Joe Hearn describes it this way: "The idea for the book originated with a folder that I had prepared for my wife shortly after we were married. Because I handled our finances, I realized that if something ever happened to me, she would have a tough time wading through everything. As much as possible, I wanted our legal and financial affairs to be on autopilot so that she would not be forced to make critical decisions at a time when she was still dealing with the grief of loss."
