How To Draw Manga Volume 15: Girls' Life Illustration File (How to Draw Manga)

This volume was inspired by young women working in cafes and restaurants clad in those absolutely charming uniforms. Snowy white aprons and crisply starched dresses are staples of manga and anime. This guide features various popular uniforms and costumes. Select an interesting uniform or costume to try on one of your own characters!

This book was great. It showed me ways to draw a girls--happy,sad,dissapointed, etc. It opened a wide variety of clothes to me. Parents who complain that this book is too showy, erotic, ect. are wrong. This is art, and art is expressed in many ways. I'm not kidding when I say that... just check out some of the art of most famous artists (Picasso, Henri Matisse, Etc.).

Obviously, many parents writing these reviews are misled in thinking that this volume is 'corrupt'. It's FINE for older kids to draw; it's a way of expression. So what if it happens to be of unrealistic, disproportioned girls; it's not so bad, considering a LOT of the manga I've seen.
This book won't ruin any young minds, but rather will help in learning figure drawing and of what their own limitations will be when drawing.

I admit I have purchased this book at the bookstore and I was thrilled because it was the last one. I kinda needed an illustration file book for quite sometime. So when I got home and looked the through the book and I saw nothing but naked girls in tubs, naked girls in poses that you might see in a 'hentai' and other things that might not be appropriate at all. The cover looks harmless but DON'T let it fool you. Inside this book is nothing but sex guides or something. This book is almost on the verge to be called a 'How to Draw Hentai' book in my eyes. Nothing but underage girls living alone and trying to be sexy but the author claimed it wasn't suppose to turn out into the sense of 'ecchi' but it did. During the middle of the book when they are talking about care products for girls kinda made me seem that I was looking through a 'How to be a sexy Girl' book or some women magazine like Glamour. This book is not practical or needed at all. I wouldn't say it's a good reference either. Right now I am going against 'How To Draw Manga' books...if you really want be a series manga artist...turn away from these 'How To Draw Manga' books and Parents and everybody beware of them because truly what you see is not what you get and I am directing to all of the 'How to Draw Manga' books.
