"They misunderestimated me."

Or did they?

Judge for yourself. Here are over 100 memorable misstatements by our syntactically challenged president, collected, annotated, and introduced by Slate magazine's Jacob Weisberg.

"I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."

"Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream."

"We'll let our friends be the peacekeepers and the great country called America will be the pacemakers."

"It's clearly a budget. It's got a lot of numbers in it."

"I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family."

"I do know I'm ready for the job [the presidency].

And if not, that's just the way it goes."

I glance at the headlines just to kind of get a flavor for what's moving. I rarely read the stories, and get briefed by people who are probably read the news themselves." --Washington, D.C., Sept. 21, 2003

That says it all there. I really can't explian how this guy got elected but his quotes make for some hilarious reading.

Overall-If you ever need to laugh make sure you have this book handy.

I bought this book as a Christmas gift for my boss, but before giving it to him I had to thumb through it. I can't believe this guy is the leader of the free world! If I was in my pre 9-11 mentality I may have found it more amusing. Don't get me wrong, it is a funny (and unbelievable) book. But sometimes it is easier to sleep at night if you aren't aware of the true extent of the president's stupidness.

This book does such a great job of showing America just how stupid George DUB-YA Bush really is.

I don't want to be political here...the Republicans voted for their man because he was a Republican. Even Republicans are embarrassed of G.W. Bush.

Is this book funny? Oh yes!

Is it a bit sad and scary that this book reveals just how pathetic our soon to be EX-President is? Yes.

Is this book doing harm? NO! It is our President's fault that he is such an idiot, revealing his stupidity and lies is not unpatriotic...it is our duty!!!!!!!

...has he fallen off the wagon? Is there something seriously wrong with him? After his, "...we will never stop finding was to harm our country and its people" gaffe, then his controversial "tribal sovereignty" stammering, now his hilarious, "ob/gyn-love women all over the country". All these remarkable new Bushisms, his best stuff yet, in a two month period?

Admittedly, they're very funny. But lately my laughter is a bit more nervous. And I ain't joking.

Because it's either laugh or cry. This book is funny, yet sad. Anyone who talks this way is truly stupid. You can't blame it on ADD or dyslexia. I know dyslexics who have PhD's and are very articulate - they can't always spell or alphabetize too well, but they CAN organize their thoughts and speak correctly. It's a sad state of affairs for our country.
