This is spectacular new book from Europe's leading uniform and equipment publisher will follow in the footsteps as such classics from the past as From Doughboy to GI.
Histoire and Collections has earned a reputation for producing the finest, incredibly detailed and sumptuously illustrated books. Their technique reaches a new level with this latest book.
All the uniforms, insignia, badges, weapons and equipment of the ETO are described in detail and depicted in both photographs and full color graphics.
This book is a must for any collector in the field.

Hi, the title of this book, G.I. Collector's Guide is a great book, but it is a little bit misnamed. The author of the book is a French guy who collected GI militaria. He has a great collection, and this is a great book for a reenactor, WW2 history student, but it is NOT what a collector of WW2 militaria needs. There is one picture of everything I've ever heard of the US Army in Europe using during the war, but only 1. Collectors know that there were several (sometimes several hundred) manufacturers of each item, and a collector would need to know how each manufacuter's items differ. This IS a great book, but, as I've stated, not a collector's book.

This book is very useful for me. I started interesting about WWII items about 2 months ago. In this book are all pages in color. Great for someone who begin interesting about WWII stuff. I highly recommend you this book. The book is about 50% cheaper here on Amazon then in my country - Czech republic.

Want to know anything about the weapons, uniforms and equipment of world war two GIs in Europe, GET THIS BOOK. It is all here.
A delightful load, almost a portable museum of information about the loads of stuff issued GIs during WWII.
I hope Histoire & Collections will do the same for the Germans of WWII.

For the "Newbie" or the "Veteran" collector. This is a wonderful reference showing great color pictures of nearly every piece of U.S. Military uniform and equipment. The great thing about this guide is it explains and shows the differences in a particular piece comparing it to later issues of the same piece of equipment. Lists items with pictures and dates of issue and use. This book is invaluable in preventing a person for buying an item that maybe represented as original or from a particular year's production when it may in fact be a later version. I highly recommend this book. Oh yeah...for those modelers that have trouble determining what colors to paint uniform items on their soldiers..this book is a godsend.

This book is very helpful to my son, who is interested in re-enacting. He is able to look through the book and see what equipment the soldiers wore. The book has great pictures of real gear with informative descriptions.
