If you've ever wondered why the latest fad diet doesn't work for you... well, there are lots of reasons, mostly the fact that it's a fad diet. But it could also be that you're the wrong blood type for the kinds of foods the diet recommends. Peter D'Adamo makes a persuasive argument that your blood type is an evolutionary marker that tells you which foods you'll process best, and which will be useless calories. He covers the entire range for each of the four blood types, from entrées to condiments and seasonings, and also makes type-specific exercise and lifestyle recommendations.

I got this book a few months ago. I weighted 190 and had BP of 145/95. I was on BP medicine but I am off it now. I also lost 12 pounds. The book is straight forward and easy to follow. Of course there's the usual 100 pages where the Dr toots his own horn which have no benefit to the reader, but after that its all business. Lots of good recipes and general health info. He even tells the reader what vitamins and herbs to take for each type. So read this book. There is also a lot of FREE info on the net. Check it out.

The information is in written about in great detail, relating and recommending the 4 blood types to specific food and exercises.
It's really helpful to know how blood types can influence your diet program.
This is diet solution that seems to make a lot of intuitive sense to a lot of people, and one that should enable anyone who follows it to live longer and maintain their health.

Do some people lose weight on this diet? Sure. Some people lost weight on the cabbage soup diet, others on the Adkins diet - but none of these are based on sound nutritional science. Because of this, I would not recommend this book to anyone. There are a lot of junk science diet books on the market.
If you are not only interested in losing weight, but are actually interested in becoming healthy, preventing or eliminating heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and so many other western diseases . . . then I would recommend Eat to Live by Joel Fuhrman, MD - an extremely well researched and documented book on how to lose weight by eating a nutritionally dense, healthy diet. And it is surprisingly easy to do. You will not only lose pounds, but a lot of Rx meds! Another book that I highly recommend is the China Study, by T. Colin Campbell, MD - this book documents the larges nutritional study ever done. A very readable book written by a top scientist - he shows you the science behind Dr. Fuhrman's work, and reinforces Dr. Fuhrman's claims about what it means to eat a truly healthy diet that will lead you to achieve and maintain your optimal weight.
