This gift set is perfect for new DnD players such as myself. I got this so i can have my own books when playing DnD with my friends and am glad i no longer have to not have my questions answered or bother someone to borrow there book. These books are updated, written well, and are bundled at a fair price. Perfect for anyone interested in DnD.

This is a great time in a box. The price is great and the game is wonderful. This set has everything you NEED to play. There are a lot of things you will want to get once you are hooked, but this is all that is needed. Dungeons and Dragons is the oldest of this style game (that I know of) and remians the once game that people know even is they are not a fan of this type of game. As the old saying goes, millions of happy customers can't be wrong.
Now, to people that play these games alot there are some down points, but they aren't anything you can't get around. Spell Casters are alittle screwy. The saves characters have to make to avoid the spell are too low, but you can get around that really easy with a house rule. House rules are a must in any game like this, so it isn't a big deal at all. So long as you can make a balanced house rule that is.
Over all this a must have for anyone into pen and paper gaming, and a great place to start if you are new to this type of game.

I have not gamed in years. Actually since shortly after the 2nd edition rules came out. The 3.5 edition greatly simplifys the game and improves the balance. This 3 in 1 collection is a great value and provides all the basics you need to start playing or running a game.
