Invasion of the Boy Snatchers
by Lisi Harrison
Realistic Fiction
Four Stars

Massie could not be happier being the alpha of her very own clique. And during the past few months, her first pick-up in carpool, Alicia, had tried one too many sneaky moves. Creating her own clique was one of them. And this school year, as peace is regained throughout the Pretty Committee, Massie still isn't happy with Olivia, the part of Alicia's alpha clique days that just wouldn't shake off . But Massie can't complain in fear she'll lose another, spreading chaos throughout the school's adoring Pretty Committee fans. But nothing could have prepared her for the new kind of chaos that was about to reek through the halls of the Octovian Country Day school . Guess who? The girl who everyone in Westchester has seen, and everyone's laughed at. The one who wore over-sized tie-dye shirts and had ketchup running down her chin . Alicia's Spanish cousin, Nina Callas. But this time, Nina's got beauty from every angle while Massie's only photogenic moments are taken from her left side. Nina's innocent curiousity attracts everyone and just when the crowd seems to have died down and gotten used to Alicia's foreign-exchange-student, Nina reveals her magic powers, claiming to cure all girl's boy troubles and while she's at it, she might as well start some new trends leaving the Pretty Committee in the dust. But Massie will not take such a blow without revenge. Massie, Kristin, Alicia, Claire, and Dylan all try to regain power with the one language they knew: hello, boys! Nina smells the plot at hand and just when OCD's Love Struck dance, Girls' choice, is approaching and girls are feverishly fighting they're way to that one guy to simply say "come to the dance with me?", Nina swipes up Cam, Chris, and Derrick or otherwise known as Claire, Dylan, and Massie's boyfriends. As the Pretty Committee is left with no dates and no excitement at the dance, they find ways to create revenge on the Miss Nina Boy-Stealer. They turn out with maybe more than one of Nina's rather smelly secrets.

I've liked Lisi Harrison's style of writing ever since I read the first book in the series, The Clique. She's just got a way of making a book a complete page-turner that makes me always want to read more. There's always something exciting going on and I've found that she has a very interesting way of making me nervous and excited for the following events in the plot. Her writing is fairly descriptive, not going to far which would make way for something of a much more blunt book. She has that way of keeping everything tied in, making it all work and woven together.

I definetly enjoyed this book. I always enjoy her books. I think that this certain one in the series was a little blunt compared to the rest of the series, but her writing still tied me in. This series is possibly one of my favorite.

The previous Clique books were terrific, but this one may be one of my favorites. More addicting than the others, I found myself reading this book every possible minute I could find. This and the Fifth Book are my favorite of this series. I believe they are the most creative yet realistic at the same time.

This book was amazing!!! OK, so it goes on again with Massie Block, Kristen Humphrey (I think), Alicia Riveria, and Claire Lyons. Alicia's hot spanish cousin come from spain and starts trouble. And you know what that means......throwdown in girl world. First off, she is so slutty, u wouldn't believe it. And she's a theif. She stole Massie's hair crimper, her Cotton Candy flavored lipgloss, Kristen's bike lock, boots from her sister, and other things from others. She is also frustrated when the guest house is being remodled and claire has to move into her room which make her room seem like a hotel with loads of crap everwhere.Anyway, Nina then starts seducing all the Briarwood boys with big boobs, tan skin, and hot accent. For some reason, she came and all the briarwood boys won't even talk to them and they run every time they see them. Massie fights over her territory and her, clarie, and alicia have fits when their crushes (and boyfriends) don't ask them to the love struck dance. So they plan a revenge plot. The made Nina walk in some gum and ruin her boots and give her pair of so-not-matching heels. But that only starts a trend and makes her more popular. Everyone asks her advice now instead of massie and that sends her over the edge. Dylan and Kristen follow after her just so boys can talk to them an win a bet that who ever gets kissed at the dance gets 3 pairs of Nina's boots. But anyway, they then form another plan with Massie, Claire, and alicia (even though that is her cousin). They find embarassing photos of her and all the stuff she stole and expose her for the theif she is. It turns out that Nina put a so called "spainiard curse" on them and they could not talk to Massie, claire, and Alicia or they would lose the finals. so they lost anyway even though they didn't talk to them which proved Nina o be a liar and Massie to get Derrington back. But since Josh Hotz likes Claire, Claire kisses him just to make herself believe that she was over cam. But...cam saw thwm and thats how it ended. Can't wait to read the next one!!! I have to start all over with the series because the first one i read was #3 and now this one so i have to go back and read 1 and 2 which will keep me busy until i can get 5 6 and 7. READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
