For the past 10+ years, I've attended many training programs and read dozens of marketing books, all with big-name "experts." Of them all, Michael Port's Book Yourself Solid system is the best I've ever found for *client-based* service businesses. It is truly the "cream of the crop."

As a social worker who presents workshops, I've always been turned off by hard-sell, tricky, gimmicky marketing advice that only tells me how to manipulate people to nail a sale. I wanted to market my programs with integrity, in ways that I could be authentic and feel true to my values. Michael's sincere client-focused approach really resonates with me and shows me how to use highly-effective marketing tools, in honest ways, to build relationships with clients and better serve them.

While my business is quite a bit different from many other service providers, I found it quite easy to recognize how I could apply the exercises to *my* needs and clientele. While there are several ideas that I've learned in other marketing resources, Michael Port (a) presents them in a step-by-step system I can follow, repeatedly, without-fail and (b) provides the "missing keys" that have made the difference in the tools working for my business --- something *none* of the other marketing resources/programs have been able to do!

While all of the BYS tools are solid and proven-effective, what really makes BYS stand apart is the sincere, heartfelt, client-focused, caring, sincere approach Michael Port takes. There is no question that his number one goal and priority is that our clients are well-served...so he practices what he preaches. He meets our needs, serves us well and over-delivers valuable content. He never holds back any information so we have to take one of his programs to get it. That proves that his optional training, support and resources are simply different ways we can choose to learn the material or take it to the most advanced and/or personalized level we choose to.

No one business expert can provide the exact answers to your all your business' marketing and promotions, but Michael Port's book provides excellent tips and advice for entrepreneurs and small business owners that they can implement now and fine-tune as their ventures grow. Your business success really depends on how hard you work at meeting your customers' expectations (and more) and staying current. Experts like Port and others who give us new marketing ideas or new slants on traditional methods help us, the small business owners, to succeed and continue to be the majority support of our economy.

This is one of the best business books I have read. It helped me get crystal clear on how to talk to people, what to say and why. It gave me a radical shift in thinking about who my client/target market actually is and this shift has resulted in a positive transformation of my business. Anyone who does the work of this book, should have fantastic results. Crisp, clear and fun!

Michael Port has written a book that not only provides a great and insightful step by step process for how to get more clients (that you love to work with) but he also has at once laid the foundation for building and running a service business that lines up with one's own heart and soul.

I have bought this book for several of my friends and have recommended it to several others.

As a new solo service professional, I am looking forward to getting booked solid as I apply what I have learned.
