Congratulations, you're expecting a baby! What you may not be expecting is all of the requisite gear you "need" to look after your dear bundle. Fear not. Denise and Alan Fields, authors of Bridal Bargains, are here to tell you what's super and what's silly, and how to find it at the best price. You'll learn all about how (and where) to shop for a crib and dresser (including how to get European styling at reasonable prices), what you need in bedding and what can be skipped (a hint: no baby requires the $200 quilt!), which clothing brands are safest and least expensive, and how to shop for monitors, toys, car seats, strollers, books, videos, and more. The authors have field-tested every major brand (and several of the minor ones), and they provide star ratings and annotations at the end of every chapter. A helpful feature in each chapter called "Wastes of Money" will steer you away from $35 Baby Air Jordans and frilly diaper stackers that match your bedding. If that's not enough, they offer a money-back guarantee: If the book doesn't save you at least $250 in baby expenses, they'll refund the price of the book. Well researched and written in a witty and comfortable tone, Baby Bargains should be required reading for every safety- and money-conscious parent-to-be. --Rebecca A. Staffel

This book saved me to much frustration by providing reviews and scores for just about every baby product you can think of. A life saver!

I glanced through this book at a bookstore, then decided to buy it online. I must admit that it has been wonderful! Even though I only used it for a few weeks when I was buying a lot of our baby stuff, it really came in handy during those few weeks. It helped us decide what good brands were to buy, what was essential and what maybe wasn't, and there are a lot of great tips.
With this being our first baby, I am especially nervous, but at least this book helped us to feel a little more prepared than we would have otherwise before. I would highly recommend it!

I bought this book when expecting my first. It took what was completely overwhelming and helped me sort through what I HAD to have, could use but not necessary and was a waste of money. I loved that it incorporates feedback from parents as well as the expert ratings and such.
This book is well worth the $$$. I would recommend it, and do!, to all first time parents.

I don't know what I would have done without this book. It completely made the overwhelming task of registering so much easier. It tells you all about every baby product you can imagine and rates it with an A, B, C, etc. It breaks out products by type and then by brand. It is absolutely a must have and I recommend it to anyone expecting their first child.
